The Stanley and Livingstone near Victoria Falls has justifiably established itself as the region’s premier small luxury hotel.
Since its opening just less than a year ago, The Stanley and Livingstone continues to charm guests and members of the travel trade who delight in the warm yet luxurious atmosphere complemented by attentive, personal service and the finest cuisine.
But The Stanley and Livingstone is not just about being pampered. The hotel is situated on a 6000-acre private estate known as the Nakavango, a region famed for its teak forests and abundant bird life. In the winter season, it is common to encounter large herds of elephant, but to ensure year-round game viewing across a broad spectrum of wildlife; the hotel is presently fencing no less than 27,5 kilometres of the Nakavango Estate.
Photographic safaris and a selection of wildlife-based activities will be arranged by The Stanley and Livingstone, but for guests who really want to get close to nature, the recreational activities stretch beyond the teak forests.
The recently constructed dam, which is fed by the Masuwe River, spreads over 72 acres and will shortly become a playground for guests with an aquatic bent. Ongoing stocking with Nileoticus bream, together with a planned breeding programme, should keep anglers entertained for hours but in the unlikely event of fish going off the bite, canoeing is another planned activity. Placid waters, the calls of birds and the most beautiful natural surroundings provide an idyllic setting in which to unwind.
Finally, but by no means least as you will appreciate, The Elephant Company, situated on the Nakavango Estate, can organise in association with The Stanley and Livingstone, a number of elephant-back safaris which provide a lofty perch from which to view the beautiful surroundings. |
